Gideon Jura: Rise of the Eldrazi planeswalker

We got the first Rise of the Eldrazi planeswalker. His name's Gideon Jura and he's a pretty much a badass. A nice addition to white Kor/Soldier decks. I can already see the synergy with Angelic Benedition. There will be three planeswalkers according to the Orb of Insight.

Today's Rise of the Eldrazi spoilers

Hope no one is getting bored with the daily Rise of the Eldrazi visual spoilers. Today, three more cards are published. One mythic rare, one rare which card art was previously published and a very nice common Red Elemental which I'm sure will find it's place in Limited.

Mono Green madness!
Nice for drafts.
Control decks might find this useful.

Get used to more and more Rise of the Eldrazi visual spoilers and card preview. Another great news and completely fresh things are the cards that have an ability to level, with level counters. I must admit, I'm happy to see this kind of mechanics, it's interesting, unique and opens many great possibilities.

Rise of the Eldrazi Visual Spoiler #2

Few more cards from Rise of the Eldrazi. The expansion is coming out in about a month, so expect more visual spoilers soon. Still, no lands are known from Rise of the Eldrazi, but there will be completely new basic lands.

I like this Annihilator ability so much. Is great, isn't it? Also, Mnemonic Wall cards looks like a nice addition to (Mono) Blue Control decks.

Check out the whole new cards from Rise of the Eldrazi below:

Weekly Top 5 Cards

With Rise of the Eldrazi approaching to our decks, let's make a short list of some interesting cards from Worldwake.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor

No need to say anything about this one. Jace has a special place in Control decks.

Kor Firewalker

What a great card for Kor decks, especially in sideboard against red.

Leatherback Baloth

Only three green mana for a killer beast. A must for mono-green decks.

Urge to Feed

Works best in Vampire decks, obviously. Since Vampires are massively played in Standard, it's a nice addition.

Basilisk Collar

Perfect for Kor Equipment decks, but it's useful in many other decks as well. Nice equipment.

BR Vampires deck

You probably wonder, why would anyone splash the mighty Black Vampires with another color? Red in Vampire decks has some advantages, removals like Terminate or Blightning, even Lightning Bolt, type of removals that lack in mono-black decks.

Check out this list below:Creatures:
4 x Bloodghast
4 x Kalastria Highborn
4 x Gatekeeper of Malakir
4 x Vampire Nocturnus
4 x Vampire Nighthawk

Spells:
4 x Terminate
4 x Blightning (or Lightning Bolt)
4 x Urge To Feed
3 x Bituminous Bolt
2 x Grim Discovery

About lands... We'll it depends. You can use various combination of Dragonskull Summit, Lavaclaw Reaches, other Fetch lands and of course, Swamps and Mountains.

Have fun.

Rise of the Eldrazi spoiler (Kozilek, Butcher of Truth)

Finally, a card from Rise of the Eldrazi is known! Check out Kozilek, Butcher of Truth below.

Legendary Creature - Eldrazi

When you cast Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, draw four cards.
Annihilator 4 (Whenever this creature attacks, defending player sacrifices four permanents.)
When Kozilek is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library.

Set info:
Rise of the Eldrazi is a Magic: The Gathering expansion set scheduled to be released April 23, 2010. It is the third set of the Zendikar block. It is a large set consisting of 228 cards plus 20 basic lands. Its tagline is "And Carnage Shall Follow." The set, while part of the Zendikar block creatively and for the sake of constructed tournament rules, is unique mechanically and is designed to be drafted on its own. Drafts will be either Zendikar-Zendikar-Worldwake or Rise of the Eldrazi-Rise of the Eldrazi-Rise of the Eldrazi
