A little is known about the upcoming Magic: The Gathering Core Set, Magic 2010. Here are few cards published in the Wizard's official article.
Plus, there is word on the new lands in Magic 2010, here's what Aaron Forsythe wrote: "There has been some speculation as to which set of existing dual lands will be in the next core set, and the answer may surprise: none of them. We wanted to make a cycle of powerful dual lands that risk-averse newer players would like, which meant coming up with something that didn't involve losing life. Sorry, painlands, fetchlands, and Ravnica duals. Trust me, the new ones are awesome!"

Grove of the Burnwillows, Horizon Canopy, Nimbus Maze, River of Tears, is what I think, along with 5 enemy colored duals.
ReplyDeleteAs to what he said... Wrong. It was already mentioned that a new kind of dual land was being created. One that didn't require 1 life or come into play tap. A completely new type. No old duals will be printed.
ReplyDeletePersonally I would like them to reprint the classic dual-lands. They do exactly what would be needed, and give players a good chance to be able to play in most of the formats again, as land is one of the most expensive cards you'll need in magic.
ReplyDeleteI know they are on the reserve list and honestly, that list should be done away with.
All it serves to do is maintain the absurd value of a handful of cards for a format that can't be played because of the cost.
yeah they should reprint the classic duels. and they should also make them common. maybe even give them away at a prelease event
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that one.

ReplyDeleteQFT LMAO
Magic 2010 duals will read:
ReplyDelete---------------------------
(R/B Dual Land)
Land
Tap: add (R) or (B) to your mana pool.
---------------------------
They are not basic lands so they cannot be "fetched". They do not contribute to domain. They are not as good as the original duals, and are arguably better than the Ravnica dual lands. This set of duals will be a great addition to Magic 2010 and will play an important role in Magic for years to come.
That's exactly what I've been thinking it will be.
ReplyDeleteThe duel lands are much more liekly to read
ReplyDeleteLand
Tap: add (R) or (B) to your mana pool. You opponent gains 1 life. (This life gain cannot be prevented or redirected.)
